YOUTH COOKING CLASSES

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Council Member Yanely Martinez will host a “Cooking with Council Member Martinez” class, with sign-ups officially open. SCHOOL TOWN HALLS

GREENFIELD — Families of students in Greenfield elementary and middle schools are encouraged to attend a series of town hall meetings for each campus, hosted by site leadership and Greenfield Union School District Superintendent Zandra Jo Galvan. They will discuss plans for reopening schools in the 2020-21 school year, as well as being open for discussion and feedback. The meetings will be held over virtual conferencing. Cesar Chavez Elementary School’s meeting is Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. Oak Avenue Elementary School is planned for Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. Vista Verde Middle School will hold its meeting Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. Mary Chapa Academy will hold its meeting Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m. Arroyo Seco Academy’s meeting was Aug. 5. LIBRARY SERVICES

MONTEREY COUNTY — Library buildings are closed, but Monterey County Free Libraries are here to help the community. Library staff can be contacted at 831-883-7555 in lieu of talking to a librarian in person. Book drops are open at local library sites so books may be returned with fines waived. The county libraries are not accepting donations at this time. Wi-Fi is available at branch parking lots. Curbside pick-up for holds is ongoing at most locations. King City’s curbside pick-up hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. For more information, visit www.mcfl.org.
