LISTENING SESSION

SAN ARDO — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office will be hosting a community listening session on Thursday, Sept. 26, in San Ardo. The session will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the San Ardo Elementary School, 32428 Center St. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community and county government.


SALINAS AIRSHOW

SALINAS — The 43rd annual California International Airshow is set for Sept. 27-29 at the Salinas Airport, offering an exhilarating lineup for aviation enthusiasts. Headlining the show are the USAF Thunderbirds and the Patriots Jet Team, alongside an array of top civilian and military performers, promising an unforgettable spectacle that includes the thrilling “Wall of Fire.” On the ground, guests can explore impressive military aircraft displays featuring the C-5M Super Galaxy, C-17, C-130J, AC-130J Ghostwriter and the Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet. Families will enjoy added attractions this year, with an expanded Chevron STEM Village and Carl’s Jr. Kids Zone providing engaging and educational activities for all ages. New to the lineup is Lucha Libre Wrestling, ensuring entertainment for children and adults alike. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, with aerial performances kicking off at about 11:45 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. A clear bag policy will be in effect for the safety and convenience of all attendees. The festivities will commence with the Maverick’s Lounge at 5 p.m. on Friday night, a culinary extravaganza featuring over 25 chefs, a mini airshow and a spectacular fireworks display. COFFEE WITH A COP

SOLEDAD — Soledad Police Department is inviting the community to attend its free Coffee with a Cop event on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m., just outside the police station at 236 Main St. The department is teaming up with Soledad Starbucks to provide coffee during the event, which connects neighbors and officers together with the goal of building trust in the community.

KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will host its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 11:30 a.m. at King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City. The guest speaker will be Corina Powers, chairwoman of Republican National Hispanic Assembly of California, who will discuss the topic “Engaging the Hispanic Community and Voter Outreach.” Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
