MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Works and the California Department of Rehabilitation are hosting the second annual Community Resource Fair on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Northridge Mall, 796 Northridge Drive, in Salinas. This free event aims to connect jobseekers, employers and community organizations, with a special focus on supporting individuals with disabilities, families and caregivers. Attendees can participate in on-the-spot interviews, workshops and access resources from over 100 local organizations. Jobseekers are encouraged to bring resumes and explore employment and training opportunities. The event is open to the public and promotes inclusive hiring and community support. SALINAS — The Fourth Annual Health and Wellness Senior Resource Day is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Active Seniors Inc. (ASI), located at 100 Harvest St. in Salinas. The free event aims to connect seniors with local resources and support, with the first 100 guests receiving a gift card upon entry. Attendees can expect a VNA Flu Shot Clinic, complimentary snacks, blood pressure monitoring and massages. LOCKWOOD — San Antonio Valley Historical Association (SAVHA) will host its Fall Dinner and Lecture on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the San Antonio Valley Community Center in Lockwood. Guest speaker Michale Erin Woody will discuss the Salinan Indian culture of Monterey County.
