LIBRARY UPDATE
GREENFIELD — Greenfield Branch Library will remain closed until Oct. 10 as it undergoes roof renovations. During this period, patrons can access services via the Bookmobile, which will visit Hicks Park near the branch. For schedules, visit eMCFL.org or call the Soledad Branch at 831-386-6890. Print, scan and copy services are available at Hicks Park and other Monterey County Free Libraries branches. Wireless internet remains active around the branch from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Staff can assist with holds, which can be routed to any branch, Bookmobile stop or Library By Mail service. However, items cannot be returned at the Greenfield Library during this closure; returns can be made at other branches or Bookmobile stops. In addition, renovations are underway at the Big Sur Branch, which is also closed until the end of October as part of countywide library improvement projects.
LISTENING SESSION
GONZALES — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office will be hosting a community listening session on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Gonzales. The session will take place at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 117 Fourth St. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community and county government.
ARTS COUNCIL OFFICE
KING CITY — The Arts Council for Monterey County is celebrating the grand opening of its new satellite office at Sol Treasures in King City with a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, Oct. 2, starting at 4:30 p.m. The event marks a special milestone, as the Arts Council, which provided the organization’s first grant, continues to support and promote the arts in South Monterey County. The new office, located at 519 Broadway St. inside Sol Treasures, will operate by appointment only. All are invited to join in this full-circle moment and celebrate the ongoing growth of the arts in the region.

GREENFIELD — Greenfield police and fire departments are inviting the community to join “National Coffee With A Cop Day” on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Starbucks, 367 Walnut Ave. in Greenfield. Attendees can enjoy coffee and pastry samples provided by Starbucks, along with conversations with local officers.
