GREENFIELD — Blue Zones Project Monterey County and the City of Greenfield will host a fun 10-week walking Moai group beginning Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 9 to 10 a.m. at 98 S. El Camino Real in Greenfield. Everyone is welcome to participate in the group, which is part of the BZP diabetes awareness series of events in November to increase awareness of type 2 diabetes, provide local resources and help drive the community to focus on its health. SOLEDAD — Soledad Merchants will be hosting its first South County Business Expo on Thursday, Nov. 9, in collaboration with the cities of Soledad, Gonzales and Greenfield and the Monterey County Workforce Development Board. The event will not only be a business expo, but also a job fair, business resource fair and a Thanksgiving food drive at the Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive, from 5 to 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity for business owners to showcase their services, products, introduce new business developments to the community, get customer feedback, network and see what others are doing in their industry. Participants and attendees are encouraged to make a Thanksgiving-themed canned or non-perishable food donation to enter. Food collected at the food drive will help ensure local families in need have a good Thanksgiving meal.

MONTEREY COUNTY — Oct. 30 marked the opening of the Declaration of Intention filing period for Judicial Seats in the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election. All interested candidates must file their Declaration of Intention no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8.
