HOLIDAY RETAIL JOBS

SALINAS — Monterey County Workforce Development Board is partnering with the Salinas Union High School District and the Mission Trails Regional Occupational Program/ROP for a Holiday Retail Job Fair on Thursday, Nov. 2, at America’s Job Center at 344 Salinas St. in downtown Salinas from 12 to 4 p.m. to spur holiday hiring locally. Holiday hiring is always at its zenith at this time of year, and local jobseekers will have the opportunity to meet with a variety of Monterey County retailers in-person at the job fair. Jobseekers are encouraged to register in advance by uploading their PDF resumes to pvapi.premiervirtual.com/s/x3z6od in advance of the in-person event.


SOLEDAD CELEBRATION

SOLEDAD — City of Soledad is hosting a Dia de los Muertos celebration on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive. Join city staff and let them know what you envision for Soledad for the next 20 years as part of the Siempre Soledad General Plan 2045. There will be special performances, raffles, food, music and more, including a catrin and catrina contest for adults and youth.


CLAM CHOWDER DINNER

LOCKWOOD — The third annual Clam Chowder Dinner is set for Saturday, Nov. 4, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Harden Lockwood Community Center. The dinner, which can either be dine-in or take-out, is a fundraiser for the Nacitone Museum. There will be a 50/50 drawing, gift basket drawing and a lamb raffle, and homemade desserts will be available for purchase. Tickets can be bought in advance at the Pine Canyon Store, Pleyto Store and from all Nacitone directors.
