SURF AND TURF
KING CITY — King City Rotary Club presents its annual Surf and Turf fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Dinner includes steak, crab, garlic bread and salad, and will be held inside the Orradre Building at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division St., in King City. There will also be a silent auction, raffle and bake sale. Proceeds will help provide scholarships to local students. Tickets are available at 1st Capital Bank and Mechanics Bank in King City, as well as from Rotary members.
TRAFFIC GARDEN POSTPONED
KING CITY — The grand opening of the King City Traffic Garden at San Antonio Park, originally planned for Saturday, Nov. 18, has been postponed due to inclement weather. The new date for the grand-opening celebration is Saturday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring their bikes and scooters to try out the new course. In addition, there will be safety training available, free bike and scooter repairs and raffle prizes.
FLU VACCINES
GREENFIELD — Mee Memorial Healthcare System is hosting a free flu vaccination clinic on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Greenfield High School library, 225 S. El Camino Real, in Greenfield. Flu vaccines, which last for about six months, are more important than ever as the community heads into the cooler months with more time spent indoors. Everyone 6 months or older should be vaccinated, according to MMHS. Vaccinations are also available by appointment at the King City Clinic (831-385-7100) and the Albert and Donna Oliveira Clinic in Greenfield (831-674-0112).
