STEM EXPO

SALINAS — Monterey County STEM Talent Expo will take place Thursday, Nov. 17, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Hartnell College, Willard Lewallen STEM Center Lobby, 411 Central Ave., in Salinas. This event will connect STEM industry leaders to talented students, former students and community members who are looking for opportunities to further their education and career opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). SURF AND TURF

KING CITY — King City Rotary Club will host its annual Surf and Turf fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. Dinner, which includes steak, crab, garlic bread and salad, will be held inside the Pavilion at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division St., in King City. Tickets are available at 1st Capital Bank and Mechanics Bank in King City.


GANAS GUESTS

SALINAS — New episodes of “Ganas — Leading from the Heart” podcasts are scheduled for November. On Nov. 7, the podcast welcomed Jason Ludwig, an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at Santa Clara University, where he has helped the program to five winning records while coaching 11 all-conference players. On Nov. 21, attention turns to Latino comedian Willie Barcena, whose brand of irreverent material from his blue-collar life brings laughs and insights all over the world. “Ganas” episodes are available on Apple Podcasts, or through the GBA website gilbasketballacademy.com.
