SOLEDAD — City of Soledad is inviting local businesses to meet the Soledad Community and Economic Development Team during an open house at the Soledad Gateway Center, 502 Front St. The event will take place Wednesday, May 25, from 4 to 7 p.m.


MENTAL HEALTH

KING CITY — Monterey County residents are invited to join a community conversation about the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the mental health of local students, youth and families on Wednesday, May 25. The Take Action for Mental Health Community Forum is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 401 Division St. in King City, where attendees can learn about resources available and tools to help with depression, anxiety, social isolation and suicide prevention. Hosted by Monterey County Behavioral Health, City of King and Partners for Peace, the event includes a free dinner and refreshments, raffle prizes and swag bag for those who register in advance. MEMORIAL WREATHS

KING CITY — VFW Post 6747 will resume its formal Memorial Day Ceremony at the King City Cemetery on Monday, May 30, at 11 a.m. The tradition of laying of wreaths on the Wall of Honor will take place during the ceremony, which honors the veterans who have been laid to rest at the cemetery. Anyone can lay a wreath, which can be homemade or purchased. To lay a wreath, RSVP to Dorothy Errea, president of the VFW Auxiliary to Post 6747, at 831-382-4230 or 831-594-5528, so they can have a complete list of participants for the roll call of wreath layers.
