MUSTANG CELEBRATION

KING CITY — The community is invited to celebrate the King City High School Mustang boys’ soccer team, which won the 2024 Division IV NorCal State Championship, on Wednesday, March 27. A downtown parade will begin at 1:40 p.m., followed by a ceremony from 2 to 3 p.m. at the town square.

SOLEDAD — City of Soledad will host Cafecito and Conversation with Economic Development on Thursday, March 28, from 8 to 9 a.m. at Soledad City Hall, 248 Main St. Special guest will be the Monterey County Business Council (MCBC). TIRE RECYCLING

SALINAS VALLEY — Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority will host a Tire Amnesty Event starting on Saturday, April 1, through Sunday, May 19, during which residents can dispose of their used tires for free at its three facilities. The event, for residents only, will accept car and small truck tires (with or without rims), and there is a limit of nine tires per trip. Facility locations are: Madison Lane Recycling and HHW Facility, 1104 Madison Lane, Salinas; Johnson Canyon Landfill, 31400 Johnson Canyon Road, Gonzales; and Jolon Road Transfer Station, 52654 Jolon Road, King City.
