FAIR ENTRIES WANTED
SALINAS VALLEY — Salinas Valley Fair is inviting residents of Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito and San Luis Obispo counties to become exhibitors at this year’s event, taking place May 15-18 in King City. Whether looking to showcase fresh flowers, baked goods, quilts, photos or unique crafts, all are welcome to participate — it’s not just for 4-H and FFA members. GOODWILL COLLECTION DRIVE
KING CITY — Community Food Pantry of King City will host a Goodwill collection drive this Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30. The Food Pantry is asking South Monterey County residents to bring new or gently used items, such as clothing, shoes, books, blankets, sheets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes, DVDs and all other general household items, to the Goodwill donation trailers at the King City High School Broadway parking lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the Food Pantry, which will support its food distribution program for King City residents in need. No furniture, beds, mattresses, exercise equipment, large appliances or baby items, such as strollers or car seats, will be accepted. For more information, call Peggy at 831-320-8678.
GARDENING DAY
GONZALES — Join the City of Gonzales and its partners for a free Community Gardening Day on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will have different activities, including gardening and rock painting, taking place at the Gonzales Community Garden on the corner of Elko Street and Fairview Drive (next to the Community Pool).
