HOUSING MEETING

GREENFIELD — City of Greenfield is hosting a follow-up meeting on the future of Greenfield housing on Thursday, June 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the City Council Chambers, 599 El Camino Real, as well as on Zoom. Residents can get some of their most common housing questions answered and provide their input. Refreshments will be provided.


FREEDOM FEST

JOLON — Fort Hunter Liggett is hosting the third annual Freedom Fest on Saturday, July 1, at Schoonover Airfield off Mission Road in Jolon to celebrate this special patriotic day. The community is invited to attend from 4 to 10 p.m., with a cost of $5 per person. There will be live music, military vehicle rides, food and drinks for purchase, military displays, inflatable bounce houses, carnival-style games, water dunk tank, axe throwing booth and more. GONZALES 5K

GONZALES — The Fourth of July will begin in Gonzales with the Ninth Annual Orange and Black 5K that starts and ends at Central Park. The race or walk is sponsored by the Gonzales Rx Pharmacy and Gonzales Rotary, and proceeds from the event will benefit Gonzales High School scholarships. Participants can register at the Gonzales Rx Pharmacy, 18 Fourth St., or online. There is a registration fee for adults, and the race is free for students. BONUS BRIEF: PHOTO CONTEST

MONTEREY COUNTY — Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) is holding its Seventh Annual Rural County Photo Contest this month. The contest invites individuals to submit their photographs capturing life in rural California and showcasing the beautiful scenery, activities, communities, history and charm of RCRC’s 40 member counties. Photo entries should be the original work of the submitter and must include: location where the photo was taken, including the county in which it was taken; and the photographer’s full name and email address. All entries are due by June 30 via email to ph**********@rc*****.org . The grand prize winner will receive a $300 gift card, and the winning photograph will be unveiled at the September RCRC Board of Directors Meeting.
