COAT DRIVE
SOLEDAD — A Coat Drive is being held at Jack Franscioni Elementary School in Soledad through Feb. 2. Donations of new or gently used coats, as well as other winter wear (scarves, gloves, mittens, etc.) are being sought to help others stay warm. FIELD CLOSURE
KING CITY — City of King closed the Little League field on Jan. 24 in order to allow for work to be done on the field in preparation of the 2024 baseball season. The field will remain closed until Little League opening day on March 9. Everyone is requested to stay off the field during this period to enable the City and the Little League volunteers to perform needed maintenance to maintain the facility in good condition. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
SOLEDAD — City of Soledad will present Emergency Preparedness Workshops on Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. and Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. at the Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive, in Soledad. Led by the Soledad Police Department, Cal Fire and the County of Monterey Department of Emergency Management, the workshops are an opportunity to empower the community with life-saving knowledge. KING CITY — City of King’s annual State of the City Address luncheon is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds’ Orradre Building.
