SKATE PARK SURVEY

KING CITY — The City of King has received grant funds to replace the ramps at the King City Skate Park at San Antonio Park. The City is seeking input from the public, particularly from users of the skate park, on the ramp alternatives. Anyone who is interested may complete a survey on design alternatives at americanrampcompany.com/king-city/ through Jan. 27. PROJECT VALENTINE

MONTEREY COUNTY — Alliance on Aging is seeking cards for their Cards for Humanity Project Valentine, in which people can send messages of love, gratitude and hope to local seniors. The goal is 2,846 Valentine’s Day inspired cards sent to seniors living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Monterey County. Cards that are bought or handmade can be sent individually or in a bundle to the Alliance on Aging, and do not have to have individual envelopes. Senders are asked to sign cards with their name or “your neighbor.” Cards are needed in both English and Spanish. For information, visit allianceonaging.org or contact Meggie Pina at 831-655-1334. RAIL RENOVATION

SALINAS — Transportation Agency for Monterey County hosted a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 15 to celebrate the first package of improvements at the Intermodal Transportation Center in Salinas. As part of the Monterey County Rail Extension Kick Start Project, the train station upgrades so far include a new direct access point to downtown Salinas with the extension of Lincoln Avenue across Market Street, a five-bay bus transfer area, bike lanes and bike lockers, safe pedestrian crossings and sidewalks and commuter parking. Once complete, the entire project will increase passenger rail service from the San Francisco Bay Area to Salinas.
