EVENTS POSTPONED

KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture has announced the postponement of two upcoming events. King City’s “State of the City” program, which was originally supposed to take place Jan. 19, has been rescheduled for Feb. 16. The Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner, set for March 5, has also been postponed, with a new date and further details to be determined.


ARTS ADVOCACY

MONTEREY COUNTY — Arts Council for Monterey County will present its free professional development program, BusinessWorks, on Friday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. The free virtual event features Julie Baker, executive director of Californians for the Arts, who will talk about advocacy for the arts and culture in California. CULINARY CLASS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Workforce Development Board is offering the Culinary Arts Program beginning Jan. 24. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills needed for entry-level cook and pastry careers in just a few months with an accelerated program that culminates in earning two college level certificates. This training program is offered in partnership with Monterey Peninsula College and will be taught by its faculty members, who have extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Classes will be in person, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., from Jan. 24 through July 27. Registration deadline is Jan. 24.
