JOB FAIRS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Works will host a series of job fairs and industry-specific recruitments throughout February at its Salinas Career Center, 344 Salinas St. Events are open to job seekers and employers and include multiple-employer job fairs and industry spotlight recruitments in transportation and health care. A multiple-employer job fair is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Suites 205-206. An Industry Spotlight Recruitment focused on transportation will follow Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in Suite 203. Another multiple-employer job fair will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Suites 205-206. The February schedule concludes with an Industry Spotlight Recruitment focused on health care on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in Suite 203. STATE OF THE CITY

SOLEDAD — Residents are invited to attend the City of Soledad’s annual State of the City address at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Soledad Community Center. City leaders will reflect on the community’s progress, highlight recent accomplishments and outline key initiatives and priorities for the year ahead. The event offers an opportunity for residents to hear directly from city leadership about ongoing projects and future plans.


JOHNNY CASH TRIBUTE

SALINAS — James Garner’s Tribute to Johnny Cash returns to the Salinas Fox Theater on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. The critically acclaimed national touring show faithfully recreates the sound, stories and spirit of Johnny Cash with a stunning level of authenticity. Fans can expect to hear timeless hits like “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,” “A Boy Named Sue” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” along with selections from Cash’s legendary live prison albums: At Folsom Prison and At San Quentin. Backing Garner is his seasoned Boom-Chicka-Boom Band, featuring Reggie Gay (guitar), Chris Akin (bass) and Nick Auriemmo (drums), all veteran musicians from Northern California. More than just a concert, the show weaves in compelling stories about Johnny Cash, his band, the Tennessee Three and the cultural legacy they left behind.
