JOB FAIRS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Works will host a pair of Multiple Employer Job Fairs this month with various employers from the region. The events are: Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m., and Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Monterey County Works’ Salinas Career Center, 344 Salinas St., in downtown Salinas. Jobseekers needing assistance registering for upcoming events are encouraged to reach out to the Salinas Career Center at 831-796-3335. IMMIGRATION FORUM

SALINAS — The Monterey County Immigrant Rights Ad Hoc Committee will host its first “Know Your Rights” Immigration Forum at Alisal High School in Salinas on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The Ad Hoc Committee is comprised of dozens of local leaders from the County of Monterey, elected offices, law enforcement, agriculture, hospitality, education, healthcare, labor, community-based organizations, immigration attorneys and the Mexican Consulate General, among others. This forum is being held in collaboration with Salinas Union High School District, Alisal Union School District and Salinas City Elementary School District. Immigrant workers, students and families are invited to attend, as well as community allies. The event will begin with a Community Resource Fair from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Afterward, local immigration lawyers will hold one-on-one consultations for a limited number of attendees. Childcare for parents will be provided by SUHSD. The forum will be in Spanish with translation provided in English and several indigenous languages. It can also be viewed at home through the County’s social media. Additional forums with the same times as above will be held in Greenfield on Feb. 19 at Vista Verde Middle School gym, in Pajaro on March 6 at Pajaro Middle School gym and in Seaside on March 19 at Seaside High School gym.

MONTEREY COUNTY — This Valentine’s Day, Alliance on Aging (AOA) is revealing a refreshed brand that embodies its commitment to uplifting older adults in Monterey County. The organization’s new color palette — emerald green, plum and burnt orange — reflects vitality, wisdom and warmth, celebrating the richness of life’s later chapters. As part of the refresh, AOA is also introducing a new tagline: “Your Partner in Healthy, Happy Aging.” This message reinforces the organization’s mission to guide individuals toward brighter, more fulfilling futures by offering innovative services, vibrant connections and comprehensive resources. “Valentine’s Day is the perfect moment to unveil our new look,” said Nicki Pasculli, spokesperson for AOA. “Love isn’t confined to romance — it’s about cherishing our communities, neighbors and shared journeys. We want this brand refresh to remind everyone that aging is a beautiful adventure.”
