GRANT WORKSHOP

KING CITY — City of King will host a public workshop on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss its efforts to obtain funding for local beautification improvements through the Clean California Local Grant Program. The City is preparing a grant application for funding for downtown beautification and placemaking improvements, public art and trash removal. In addition, the City is working with Caltrans on a proposed project through Clean California for beautification improvements along Highway 101 in King City and at the underpasses. Participants can join in person at the City Council Chambers, 212 S. Vanderhurst Ave., or by Zoom at https://bit.ly/3ow9llv to learn about the improvements being considered, share ideas and provide input regarding design options. Spanish translation will be provided.


WINTER WONDERLAND

SALINAS — Central Coast YMCA will host its annual Winter Wonderland in December. The free community event will feature ornament making, face painting, gingerbread house making, snacks and more. This year’s Salinas locations and dates are: Salinas YMCA, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10; and Salinas Aquatic Center, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17.


LIGHTED PARADE

KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host the 22nd Annual Light Christmas Parade on Friday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Entry forms are currently being accepted for the parade featuring the theme, “Christmas Music Magic,” and are recommended to be returned to the Chamber office, 200 Broadway St., Suite 40, by Dec. 15. No entry will be accepted without lights, and candy or other objects are prohibited from being thrown or handed out during the parade. Call the Chamber at 831-385-3814 for more information.
