TROPHY FISH

MONTEREY COUNTY — More good news for local fishermen — the really big fish have arrived at Lake San Antonio. Earlier this month, the Department of Fish and Wildlife planted 4,000 pounds of rainbow trout at the lake. On Dec. 18, staff returned to plant approximately 475 pounds of “trophy” sized rainbow trout. About 200 fish between 2 and 3 pounds each were dropped at Lake San Antonio North Shore in Monterey County. “If you haven’t been out yet, grab your license and your gear,” stated county officials.
