ANGRY CHICKZ OPENS

SALINAS — Angry Chickz, the Southern California-born brand renowned for its Nashville Hot Chicken, is set to open its next location in Salinas on Dec. 13. This will be the first Angry Chickz in the area and its 28th location system-wide. The new restaurant will be located at 1816 N. Main St., Suite A, in Salinas on the corner of Boronda and San Juan Grade roads. Operating hours will be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. To celebrate its grand opening, Angry Chickz intends to collaborate with local schools and organizations and will host a special opening day event with activities and promotions to welcome the Salinas community. Angry Chickz was founded in 2018 by David Mkhitaryan, who wanted to share his love of spicy chicken with the world. WREATH-LAYING CEREMONY

SOLEDAD — Wreaths Across America will be at Soledad Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m. to remember and honor veterans through the laying of remembrance wreaths on the graves of the country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud. All veteran service organizations and community members are invited to attend the wreath-laying ceremony. The cemetery is located at 1711 Metz Road in Soledad. CDBG FUNDING

SALINAS VALLEY — The unincorporated county area and cities of Marina, Gonzales, Greenfield and Sand City are seeking proposals for eligible projects to be funded with HUD Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) for Program Year 2025-26. Ideas and comments can be submitted through Dec. 16. The CDBG Program Workshop will be held Monday, Dec. 16, at 9 a.m. at the County of Monterey Government Center, 1441 Schilling Place, 2nd Fl. South, Thyme Room, in Salinas. The workshop will also be live streamed at montereycty.zoom.us/j/97728826288.
