GREENFIELD — The Greenfield soccer complex at Patriot Park will be temporarily closed for maintenance from Dec. 11 through Jan. 19. INTERIM CEO

SALINAS — Salinas Valley Health has announced Allen Radner, M.D., as interim president/CEO. Radner has held various leadership positions at Salinas Valley Health and other medical centers in the region since joining the medical staff in 1994. He joined the executive team as the chief medical officer in 2013 and was appointed CEO of the Salinas Valley Health Clinics in 2019. Radner specializes in infectious diseases and internal medicine. He earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his infectious diseases fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.


DONATION DRIVE

MONTEREY COUNTY — Help keep migrant families in Monterey County warm this winter by donating a new warm blanket, youth hoodies (sizes 14-20) and/or a $25 local grocery store gift card. Donations can be dropped off at the Migrant Education Office at Monterey County Office of Education, 901 Blanco Circle in Salinas, during regular operating hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pick-up can also be arranged. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 16. SOLEDAD — Vitalant is urging all eligible blood donors to shake up their holiday traditions and plan a time to give blood or platelets in the coming weeks. Blood donations right now are especially critical for maintaining a sufficient blood supply for patients during the holiday season, when busy schedules sharply reduce the number of available donors. A blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 14, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Soledad High School, 425 Gabilan Drive, in Soledad. Another blood drive will take place Friday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Salinas Valley Health Medical Center, 450 E. Romie Lann, in Salinas.
