VACCINE REGISTRATION

GREENFIELD — As part of its ongoing efforts to make Covid-19 vaccines more convenient, McDonald’s in Greenfield will be hosting a vaccine registration event in cooperation with VIDA (Virus Integrated Distribution of Aid) of Monterey County, through the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Community health works from VIDA will be available to help people register for vaccines on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 6 and 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Greenfield McDonald’s, 501 El Camino Real. Anyone who registers will get a free Big Mac.


FAIR VOLUNTEERS

MONTEREY — Volunteers are being sought to help with the 85th annual Monterey County Fair, set for Sept. 3-6 at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center, 2004 Fairground Road, in Monterey. Receiving day is Sunday, Aug. 22, and help is needed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers can download a registration form at montereycountyfair.com and return it to en***@mo****************.com. Volunteer orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Seaside Room at the fairgrounds. For more information, call 831-372-5863.


WRITE-IN CANDIDATES

MONTEREY COUNTY — The nomination period to qualify as a write-in candidate for the California Gubernatorial Recall Election opened July 19 and runs through Friday, Aug. 31. Official documents may be obtained from and filed at the Monterey County Elections Department, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, in Salinas.
