SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE EXTENDED
MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Cattlemen’s and Cattlewomen’s scholarship deadline has been extended to April 15. These scholarships are available to graduating seniors in Monterey County who plan to continue their education in agriculture. KING CITY — King City Police Department is continuing its “Chat with the Chief” series with Police Chief James Hunt on Wednesday, April 3, from 3 to 4 p.m. at La Plaza Bakery, 111 Broadway St., in King City. The community can stop by with any questions or concerns for the chief.
COWBOY GATHERING
SALINAS — The Clem Albertoni Cowboy Gathering, produced by the California Rodeo Salinas, will take place on Saturday, April 6, at the Salinas Sports Complex, 1034 N. Main St., in the Exhibition Mall. Lacy J. Dalton will headline the event this year, with Jake Riley opening the show. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided by the California Rodeo Salinas’ Barbecue Committee — steak with all the fixings. The event is held in memory of long-time master of ceremonies and cowboy poet Clem Albertoni, who died in 2021. Albertoni, a local legend in Monterey County, was involved with the event for years.
