SCHOOL CARNIVAL

SOLEDAD — The annual Soledad Education Foundation Carnival is scheduled for April 25-28 at Frank Ledesma School, 973 Vista De Soledad. Ride tickets can be bought in advance at the following school sites: Frank Ledesma, Gabilan, Main Street, Soledad High and CEC. Last day for ticket sales is Thursday morning, April 25. Proceeds benefit teachers and schools.


MOTHER’S DAY CARDS

SALINAS — Alliance on Aging needs volunteers to help create Mother’s Day cards for its “I Remember Mama” campaign. The cards should have fun, loving and hopeful messages, and will be delivered to the facilities on Mother’s Day weekend. Any community member can be involved in the project by mailing or dropping off cards to Alliance on Aging, 236 Monterey St., Salinas, CA 93901. The deadline is May 1. COOKS WANTED

LOCKWOOD — The Nacitone Museum is seeking cooks, helpers and demonstrators to participate in its Annual Dutch Oven Event on Saturday, May 11, coinciding with Mother’s Day weekend. The event will take place at the Nacitone Museum, located at 68901 Jolon Road, in Lockwood. It will kick off at 12 p.m. with Dutch oven demonstrations, followed by dining starting at 4 p.m. Cooks registration is open until May 1. To register, visit tinyurl.com/56p4rmpk. Cooks are required to arrive by noon or earlier to reserve their spot. Charcoal will be provided, and Dutch ovens may be available upon request. In addition to the cooking festivities, the museum welcomes such displays as leather tooling, antique cars, wagon displays and more from the 1800s to 1920s era.
