Peterson Isidro of Greenfield was among more than 3,000 students named to the Stanislaus State Spring 2023 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and register for and earn a minimum of 12 units of credit of graded coursework at the university. California State University, Stanislaus serves a diverse student body of more than 10,000 at two locations in the Central Valley — a 228-acre campus in Turlock and the Stockton Campus, located in the city’s historic Magnolia District.


Olivia Bakker of Salinas, majoring in business administration, and Noelia Martinez of Greenfield, majoring in cinema and media arts, started their journey as an Eagle this fall at Biola University in La Mirada, Calif. Biola’s incoming class represents an accomplished, diverse group of individuals who hail from 47 states and U.S. territories and 45 countries around the world. A total of 1,014 undergraduate and 599 graduate students attended the first day of classes. These students are part of the largest incoming class at Biola this fall since the pandemic, surpassing enrollment goals.


Maya Avalos of Greenfield was among over 700 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall who earned more than $13.1 million in merit scholarships. Avalos, a graduate of Greenfield High School majoring in acting, earned a $15,000 Fellows’ Scholarship based on outstanding academic achievements in high school. Located in Berea, Ohio, BW’s merit scholarships are awarded to full-time students and are renewable up to four years with good academic and social standing.
