GREENFIELD — A grinding and paving project will result in on- and off-ramp closures on Highway 101 in the Greenfield area beginning this week.

The work, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, started Tuesday with the closure of the northbound 101 Walnut off-ramp.

Closures will continue during the following days and locations:

  • Wednesday, Aug. 16, northbound 101 Oak on-ramp will be closed.
  • Thursday, Aug. 17, northbound 101 Thorn off-ramp will be closed.
  • Friday, Aug. 18, northbound 101 Thorn on-ramp will be closed.
  • Monday, Aug. 21, southbound 101 Thorn off-ramp will be closed.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 22, southbound US 101 off-ramp to Soledad Prison will be closed.

More than 1,300 tons of asphalt mix will be used for this project.

The work will be performed by Caltrans’ Salinas south maintenance team.
