Partnership for Children

SALINAS — Partnership for Children has received a $105,000 grant from Hospice Giving Foundation to continue its mission of advocating for children and families on the Central Coast.

Since 2007, the nonprofit organization has provided transportation and financial assistance for area children who require access to compassionate care. These efforts were bolstered in August through the grant from Hospice Giving Foundation, an independent foundation focused on end-of-life care and preparedness.

The funding supports critical direct services for children ages birth through 21 years of age living in Monterey and San Benito counties. Those services include transportation to medical care, financial support and family practical support services, with the mission of increasing access to medical care and supporting families.

Partnership for Children helps by providing safe, free and reliable rides to medical appointments, as well as gas-card subsidies. It also provides financial subsidies to help pay for basic living expenses, such as rent or utilities, and coordinates with hospital social workers as well as community partners to determine family needs.
