SOLEDAD — Bridge rehabilitation work in Soledad will result in a full closure of northbound Highway 101 for four consecutive nights beginning Monday, May 8, and continuing through Thursday, May 11.
These full closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. A detour will be available.
During closure hours, travelers on northbound 101 will be directed to exit the highway at the first Soledad exit (Exit 302). Travelers will continue north on Front Street through the city of Soledad and will re-enter northbound 101 using the Moranda Road onramp.
Motorists can expect delays of 10 minutes. Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of these closures, and CHP will be on hand to assist with traffic control.
“During these overnight closures, crews will apply a layer of polyester concrete to the bridge deck,” Caltrans stated. “No other overnight closures are scheduled as part of this project to rehabilitate the bridge deck and bridge rail.”
Crews will return in subsequent weeks to apply final paving and striping, with work expected to be completed on the bridge in late May, weather permitting.
This Caltrans rehabilitation project is being performed in partnership with the City of Soledad.
