GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police Department has arrested six individuals in connection with a robbery that took place May 9 on the 300 block of El Camino Real. The swift response came amid a coordinated effort involving local law enforcement and community partners.

The incident occurred prior to a scheduled probation compliance operation conducted in partnership with the Monterey County Probation Department and the Soledad Police Department. Within minutes of receiving reports of the robbery, more than 20 officers arrived on scene, quickly locating and arresting all six suspects — five juveniles and one adult. The juvenile suspects were transported to juvenile hall, while 21-year-old Hector Aispuro was booked into Monterey County Jail.

Further investigation, aided by city, business and residential security camera footage, led detectives to identify an additional suspect, 28-year-old Gregorio Torres.

Torres, a documented gang member, was taken into custody at his Greenfield residence on May 16. He faces charges of robbery, conspiracy and gang enhancement. Surveillance footage suggests Torres had been frequently associating with the juvenile suspects, raising concerns about possible recruitment or encouragement of minors in criminal activities.

Greenfield Police Department emphasizes the importance of community involvement in preventing crime.

“We remind parents and guardians to stay involved and active in their children’s lives, know where they are and who they’re with, and set consistent boundaries and discipline,” police said.

The department also expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of all agencies involved, including the Soledad Police Department and Monterey County Probation, whose ongoing commitment to public safety was instrumental in resolving the case.
