KING CITY — Mee Memorial Healthcare System has received $500,000 in grants to support the expansion of its pediatric services in King City.
A total of $150,000 was gifted on top of a $350,000 grant from Monterey Peninsula Foundation, Mee Memorial announced last Thursday.
The new pediatric clinic in the former Workwell Medical Group offices, at 809 Broadway St. in King City, will provide a dedicated space to care for the children of South Monterey County and is “designed to address the unique challenges of pediatric medicine,” according to Mee Memorial.
“Our pediatric-specific clinic will create a warm, welcoming environment that helps children feel safe and comfortable — with a focus on healthy growth and development,” said Dr. Jorge Feria, a pediatric service director at Mee Memorial. “Our on-site providers will help parents navigate everything from immunizations and check-ups to chronic health conditions. We will treat minor injuries, reduce dislocations, splint broken bones, remove foreign bodies from ears and noses, and much more.”
In addition, the clinic expansion will serve to increase capacity at Mee Memorial’s King City clinic, where Family and Community Medicine providers treat a variety of patient ages.
Supporting the community through charitable initiatives since 1947, Monterey Peninsula Foundation hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Pure Insurance Championship Impacting First Tee.
