SALINAS VALLEY — Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM) will present the 31st Annual Drury-Tankersley Clam Chowder Feed and Steak Dinner on Friday, Jan. 23, at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds’ Orradre Building in King City.
New this year, the event offers two menu options to accommodate both takeout and sit-down dining.
For those looking for takeout, a meal including clam chowder, salad, bread and dessert will be available from 3 to 7 p.m. Guests who prefer a sit-down dining experience may enter when doors open at 4:30 p.m., with dinner beginning to be served at 5 p.m. Sit-down guests may choose between clam chowder, salad, bread and dessert, or a steak dinner that includes steak, clam chowder, salad, bread and dessert.
“Throughout the evening, attendees will enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere perfect for visiting and catching up with old friends,” according to Teri Storelli, the museum’s executive director.
Several USO-style performances will take place during the night, adding to the nostalgic spirit of the event. An exclusive World War II display will also be featured, highlighting local legends who served the country, along with original historical research projects created by MCARLM high school interns.
Additional highlights include a silent auction, a variety of door prizes — including a 60-inch television — and many other opportunities for fun and community connection.
Proceeds from the event benefit the museum, supporting its exhibits, educational programs and preservation of local agricultural and military history.
“This beloved community tradition is expected to sell out, and only a very limited number of tickets will be available at the door,” Storelli said.
Advance tickets are strongly encouraged and may be purchased at L.A. Hearne Company, the MCARLM Gift Shop or West Coast Community Bank.
