Support local businesses

The Covid-19 shutdown has created many opportunities to learn what is most important in our lives, like the value of local business connections. I’d like to acknowledge one business that has stepped up to serve our communities.

Ranch WiFi provides high speed internet access for the rural fringe of North San Luis Obispo and South Monterey counties. When all schools suddenly had to begin teaching online, Ranch WiFi started a program on the Central Coast to provide free equipment, hook up and service for students that do not have internet. Workers go out to their homes, set up the equipment and make sure it’s all working properly.

Ranch WiFi provides basic internet service for free until June 15, after which the families can choose to continue the service. They will keep the equipment and never be charged for it.

This local company has committed to assisting schools so that all students can in fact, learn from home. Its commitment reminds us that supporting local businesses is in our own best interest and that of the communities we call home.

Let’s show our appreciation for Ranch WiFi by supporting it and all local businesses. Today we are learning they are not just our neighbors, but our friends.
