To the Editor:

The sixth annual Greenfield Coat Drive to help the homeless was a big success. More than 200 new and gently used coats and sweaters were donated.

A very big “Thank You” to Jose at the Science Center. I would never be able to have the coat drive without all of his help. I would also like to thank Higher Level, Greenfield Fire Department and City Hall for having collection containers at their locations.

Thanks to the news organizations that helped spread the word, Salinas Valley Tribune, KRKC radio station and KSBW.

Thank you so very much to all the people who donated coats and sweaters, and the person who donated a bag full of crocheted beanies. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

The organization Lideres de Campesinos were so very kind to hand out the items to the homeless.

Thanks again to all who helped to keep the less fortunate warm.

Avelina Torres
