SALINAS VALLEY — A Monterey County judge has ruled that Angel Evans, 18, will be tried as an adult for his alleged role in a deadly shooting spree earlier this year that left six dead and 11 injured in South Monterey County.
Evans was 17 when he and Jonathan Cervantes allegedly shot two cousins near Soledad and, days later, opened fire at a King City birthday party, killing four and injuring seven others.
Pedro Nava, accused of ordering the murders, faces similar charges.
All three defendants face six counts of murder, seven counts of attempted murder and charges of street terrorism. Evans and Cervantes also face robbery and firearms charges.
