SOLEDAD — Despite soaring temperatures, the City of Soledad successfully hosted the third annual Soledad Hot Summer Days Car Show and Fundraiser.

“Huge thank you to all the people, groups and organizations that helped make Hot Summer Days 2024 successful,” stated the City on social media. “We were so pleased to see people from all over come into Soledad to celebrate. It was definitely a HOT summer day!”

Held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Front Street, the July 6 event attracted hundreds of car enthusiasts from across Monterey County, undeterred by the intense heat wave.

This year’s Hot Summer Days Car Show was a collaborative effort by the Crusaders Car Club, Soledad Police Department, Soledad Recreation Department and F&M Auto Repair, continuing the event’s tradition since its inception in 2022.

Initially conceived through a partnership between the Soledad Police and the Crusaders Car Club, the car show was designed to foster community engagement and raise funds for local programs, such as the Soledad Explorers Program. This year, the funds raised were directed toward supporting youth programs at the Soledad Community Center.

Even with triple-digit temperatures, the event saw significant growth, featuring hundreds of cars on display. Attendees braved the heat to enjoy a vibrant lineup of entertainment, including music, activities for youth, a Pin Up and Pachuco contest and performances by Ballet Folklorico and Kids Hip Hop Dancing.

Various food trucks from across the region also provided refreshing treats.

The City extended its gratitude to all participants, including food and retail vendors, who contributed to the car show’s success.

“This year’s event was a tremendous success, made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, vendors and the community,” the City stated. “We appreciate all who attended and took part in this year’s festivities! We believe each year will only get better, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s car show.”
