GONZALES — Pixel ornaments, handmade jewelry, hair bows, a bake sale and more were all part of the American Legion’s first Craft Fair of the year Nov. 10.
The American Legion approached Tina Marie of Tina Marie’s Jewelry to put together the event at the Legion Hall last Saturday morning. With the funds raised from vendor fees, the American Legion will be able to replace old equipment, such as chairs and tables.
Among the vendors was 12-year-old Jose Antonio, who made pixel ornaments with beads. Antonio created the ornaments to raise money for a game console that he wanted.
Gonzales Lions Club participated in the event by making baked goods to sell to Craft Fair visitors. Proceeds from the booth went toward the local food pantry across from the church.
