GREENFIELD — When life gives you lemons, make lemonade — and that’s exactly what Greenfield youth Charlie and Dylen did last Friday when they opened a lemonade stand for the community.
Greenfield Police Department highlighted the young entrepreneurs on social media after visiting their operation in the 800 block of Apple Avenue, saying it is a “perfect example of the positive impact that community-based policing can have on our neighborhoods.”
In addition to police officers, Greenfield Fire Department staff, Monterey County Probation officers, Greenfield Union School District employees, construction workers and other community members stopped by the boys’ stand to show their support.
“As a police department, we believe that building strong relationships with the youth in our community is essential for creating a safer and more connected community,” said Greenfield Police. “By supporting local youth like Charlie and Dylen, we can help to ensure that they feel valued and empowered to make a difference.”
According to their grandmother Debbie Arbrun, “Dylen, Charlie and myself want to thank everyone for their support! Greenfield Police Department and Greenfield Fire Department, you rock! Thanks again everyone for stopping by!”
