GREENFIELD — Greenfield High School’s Robotics Team received the opportunity to take five student scholars and three alumni to Apple Park — the corporate headquarters of Apple Inc. in Cupertino — last month for an interactive session with the mechanical and electrical engineering teams responsible for designing the MacBook Pro laptop computer.

During their visit, the Greenfield group shared their local tech experience with Apple CEO Tim Cook.

They then toured the Steve Jobs Theater before leaving for the FIRST INSPIRE 2022 Gala at The Exploratorium at Pier 15 in San Francisco.

Cook was the Guest of Honor at the Nov. 15 event, featuring an evening of inspiration, celebration and hands-on STEM experience with fellow industry leaders and the next generation of science and tech pioneers.

Students were able to interact with CEOs, presidents and vice presidents of different corporations as well as other dignitaries and celebrities at the gala hosted by FIRST, a global robotics community preparing young people for the future and the world’s leading youth-serving nonprofit advancing STEM education.
