GONZALES — Gonzales Police Chief Keith Wise recently swore in Officer Eric Serrano, who joined the department last month.

Serrano’s mother Ana pinned the badge for the department’s newest member during the Feb. 4 ceremony.

Serrano, who was born and raised in San Jose, joined the U.S. Marine Corps after high school and later attended college and the police academy. He worked as a jailer for five years and has been a police officer since 2019.

Serrano said he looks forward to “meeting the citizens of Gonzales and keeping the community safe.”
