GONZALES — Gonzales Police Department Chief Keith Wise swore in new Officer Miguel Perez on Feb. 22, during which Perez’s wife pinned his badge.
Perez, who was raised in Gonzales, graduated from Hartnell College with an associate degree in administration of justice.
He enjoys living in South Monterey County because of the “friendly-family community environment.”
“I am excited and motivated to keep my hometown where I grew up as safe as possible,” Perez added. “I’m happy to be home.”
