GONZALES — Adventure Seeking Seniors group was among this year’s nominees for the 47th Annual LIVE UNITED Awards, presented by United Way Monterey County, which celebrate and recognize volunteers for their contributions to the community.

The Gonzales group is made up of senior citizens who support and assist other seniors in their community. Each month they prepare a special luncheon that entertains more than 100 seniors, as well as deliver meals to about 60 seniors who are homebound.

Monterey County Superintendent of Schools Deneen Guss nominated the group for the award. The 2023 awards celebration was held April 26.
