SALINAS VALLEY — Food Bank for Monterey County continues to provide weekly food distributions at sites around South Monterey County during the month of May.
The distributions are curbside and focused mainly on cars in a drive-thru format. With sites in most towns, those in need should be able to find a local distribution.
Recipients are advised to obtain food from their own local distribution when possible, to ensure those in need in other towns are able to get food.
Social distancing guidelines are observed at the distribution sites, and the most efficient way to arrive is in a car and have the trunk, tailgate or rear hatch open while in line. Those who can only walk up, however, will be placed into alternate lines to receive food packages.
