MONTEREY COUNTY — First Tee – Monterey County marked 20 years of empowering local youth through its unique blend of golf and life skills education.
Since its founding in 2004, the organization has reached over 165,000 young individuals, instilling resilience, self-confidence and inner strength that extends far beyond the golf course.
This milestone coincides with the 20th anniversary of CEO Nick Nelson’s invaluable contributions. Starting as the organization’s first coach, Nelson has risen to lead First Tee – Monterey County as its CEO, guiding it to national prominence among First Tee chapters across the country.
“Nick’s commitment, hard work and vision have been the driving forces behind the growth and success of First Tee – Monterey County,” said Board Chairman Daniel Lynch. “Under his leadership, we’ve seen countless young lives transformed and our community strengthened.”
Nelson’s journey with First Tee – Monterey County epitomizes commitment and perseverance.
From his early days as a coach to his current role as CEO, Nelson has remained steadfast in his mission to nurture and inspire local youth. His vision and leadership have propelled the chapter to become one of the most respected in the First Tee network.
