MONTEREY COUNTY — Residents can support animal welfare and learn about responsible pet care through several February events organized by the SPCA Monterey County.

A Pawesome Valentine’s Day Camp is set for Saturday, Feb. 14, where children will learn about pets, responsible ownership and ways to keep animals mentally engaged using items found at home. Participants will also learn how adoptable animals are matched with new homes. Registration is available at spcamc.org/camp.

A low-cost mobile spay and neuter clinic will take place Wednesday, Feb. 18, in King City.
