SOLEDAD — City of Soledad has announced its first-ever Music in the Park summer series, a new community event bringing live music, food and family fun to the heart of downtown Soledad.
The free event series will take place at Cesar Chavez Park on the second Friday of each month, starting June 13 and continuing July 11 and Aug. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Each evening will feature a different live band and a rotating lineup of local food vendors.
“This is about more than music — it’s about creating a safe, vibrant space where families, friends and neighbors can come together and enjoy everything Soledad has to offer,” said Jessica Potts, Soledad Parks and Recreation director. “We’re especially excited to activate Cesar Chavez Park in the downtown corridor and support our local vendors.”
The series kicks off with Shannon and the Night Divers, a high-energy band known for their crowd-pleasing mix of classic rock and pop hits.
Cesar Chavez Park is located at 555 Front St. To create a more enjoyable and secure event experience, Front Street will be closed between Main and Soledad streets during each event. This closure will provide a safe pedestrian space for attendees and allow food vendors to set up along the park’s edge.
The Music in the Park series is hosted by the City of Soledad through its Parks and Recreation Department, with support from local businesses and community members.
Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and their dancing shoes. For sponsorship or vendor inquiries or more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 831-223-5250.
