SOLEDAD — The incarcerated population at the Correctional Training Facility (CTF) in Soledad recently raised and donated more than $3,500 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation through a special food sale fundraising event.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, established in honor of firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life heroically saving others during the 9/11 attacks, is dedicated to supporting veterans, first responders and their families.
CTF Warden Edward J. Borla praised the efforts and commitment shown by the incarcerated individuals, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, which posted about the donation on June 5.
“This fundraiser is a powerful testament to the meaningful rehabilitation taking place at CTF,” Borla said. “It demonstrates our incarcerated population’s genuine desire to give back to society by supporting veterans, first responders and their families.”
