SALINAS — Gloria De La Rosa was honored Dec. 1 with a reception for her 22 years as a Salinas city councilmember.

De La Rosa grew up in Soledad and was elected to serve District 4 in Salinas. She has served in many civic organizations and was appointed to several offices and boards throughout Salinas and Monterey County.

De La Rosa is a retired Monterey County Health nurse and lives in Salinas with her husband Leo De La Rosa.

Attending the reception was Soledad Mayor-elect Anna Velasquez, who has worked on various boards and committees with De La Rosa.

Other outgoing city councilmembers were Tony Villegas and Scott Davis.
