SOLEDAD — City of Soledad, in collaboration with Catholic Charities Diocese of Monterey, will be hosting a free, community-wide CalFresh and Medi-Cal application workshop on Thursday, Dec. 18.
The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Soledad City Council Chambers, located at 248 Main St.
Community members in need of assistance completing a new benefits application or renewing an existing case are highly encouraged to attend this free workshop. The workshop is designed to facilitate the renewal or enrollment process for families who only speak Spanish, families and individuals who are not technology-savvy and/or families and individuals who may have questions about the enrollment process.
Live, hands-on guidance will be available, and Spanish-speaking staff will be on site throughout the workshop.

With the rising cost of living, many families are struggling to keep up,” said Soledad Mayor Anna Velazquez. “Access to benefits like healthcare and nutrition assistance is essential to their stability and dignity. We are grateful to partner with Catholic Charities who will be hosting CalFresh and Medi-Cal workshops to ensure our residents can get the support they qualify for so families can stay healthy, housed and financially stable. When our working families are supported, our entire community benefits.”
Community members interested in attending should bring their basic identification documents to ensure applications can be processed accordingly. Laptops and Wi-Fi will be provided for attendees who need to complete the online application form.
