SALINAS VALLEY — Jjey Martinez of the King City High boys’ basketball team helped lead the Mustangs to victory over the Gonzales Spartans in a pair of league games last week.

The Mustangs (4-4) defeated the Spartans (1-6) first at Gonzales High on Feb. 3 and then at home on Feb. 5.
