SALINAS VALLEY — Greenfield Bruins are 7-0 at the end of their non-league schedule in baseball.

The Bruins had two games this past week, defeating the Gonzales Spartans 15-2 on the road and finishing the series with a 10-0 shutout at home.

In the first game of the series, Bruins’ Fabian Gonzales threw a no-hitter and struck out eight batters. Gonzales, Naythen Hernandez and Danny Nave led Greenfield with two hits apiece.

The Bruins open Mission Division play this week with a road and home series against North Monterey County. 

The Spartans (0-2) begin a Cypress Division series with Watsonville this week.

Soledad (3-4) continued Gabilan Division games, falling 11-7 at home to St. Francis and completing the two-game series with a 7-0 loss in Watsonville to the Sharks.

The Aztecs have a home and away series this week with Carmel on Tuesday and Thursday.

King City (0-9) lost 11-1 on the road to Coalinga and fell 9-2 to host Robert Louis Stevenson on Thursday.

The Mustangs hosted Everett Alvarez for a non-league game on Friday and begin Cypress play at Pajaro Valley on Tuesday, followed by a home game with the Grizzlies on Thursday.
